This is a description of Zoledronic Acid Injection, a sterile solution for intravenous infusion. The solution contains 5 mg per 100 mL of zoledronic acid monohydrate, and each bag contains 5.330 mg equivalent to 5 mg zoledronic acid on an anhydrous basis, 4950 mg of mannitol, USP, 30 mg of sodium citrate, USP, and 100 mL water for injection, USP. The administration should be done as a single intravenous solution through a separate vented infusion line with an infusion time of no less than 15 minutes. It is important NOT to mix it with calcium-containing solutions and to discard any unused portion. The accompanying Medication Guide should be dispensed to each patient.
