DEFENCATH™ Limited is a catheter lock solution containing Taurolidine and Heparin. It is intended for instillation in central venous catheters and is not meant for systemic administration or use as a catheter lock flush. The solution is derived from Porcine Intestinal Mucosa. Each 3 mL vial contains 40.5 mg of Taurolidine (13.5 mg/mL) and 3,000 USP Units of Heparin (1,000 USP Units/mL). It is important to store the solution at a temperature between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F) and discard any unused portion. The product has a specific lot number (XXXXXX) and expiration date (YYYY-MM-DD).*
