Camphor Ointment (Camphor)
This is a description of a drug ointment by Germa. The active ingredient in the ointment is Camphor 10%. It is indicated for temporary relief of minor pains such as muscular aches, arthritis, rheumatism, and backache. The ointment should only be used externally and should be kept out of reach of children. In case of accidental ingestion, immediate medical help or contact with a Poison Control Center is recommended. It should not be used on children, irritated skin, eyes, mucous membranes, wounds, damaged skin, or if prone to allergic reactions. It should also not be used on large areas of the body. If taking other medications or drinking alcohol, or if the safety seal is torn, broken, or missing, it should not be used. If the condition worsens or persists for more than 7 days, or if irritation or severe burning occurs, a doctor should be consulted. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should ask a healthcare professional before using. The ointment should be stored at controlled room temperature. Adults 18 years of age and older can apply the ointment in the affected area up to three times daily. The ointment contains petrolatum as an inactive ingredient.*
