This is a description of an oral solution of Potassium Iodide, USP. The solution comes in a bottle which contains 1 fluid Oz of 1 g/mL solution. The usual dosage for adults is 0.3 mL or 0.6 mL diluted in water, fruit juice or milk, 3-4 times a day. The medication must be taken with food or milk to minimize gastric irritation. The solution should be stored at 20° to 25°C and protected from light. The crystalization of the solution may occur on exposing it to cold temperatures, but can be redissolved by warming and shaking.
