Docosanol 10% (Docosanol 10 Percent Creamene 1)
This is a description of Docosanol Cream, a 10% cold sore/fever blister treatment. It has been demonstrated to shorten the healing time of cold sores. The cream should be used at the very start of a cold sore outbreak, when you feel the first sign of a tingle, redness, bump, or itch. Docosanol Cream is different from other over-the-counter cold sore products as it contains 10% docosanol, which helps shorten the healing time and relieve symptoms such as tingling, pain, itching, and burning. It can be used by adults and children 12 years and over, and should be applied five times a day until the cold sore is healed. Cosmetics can be applied over the cream, but a separate applicator should be used to avoid spreading the infection.*
