FoscaVir® is an injectable solution containing foscarnet sodium at a strength of 6000 mg/250 mL (24 mg/mL). The solution is sterile, non-pyrogenic and can be used for controlled intravenous infusion. The product must be diluted before use and infused only via the central vein catheter. Each mL of the solution contains 24 mg foscarnet sodium, and hydrochloric acid is used to adjust the pH of the solution. The product should be protected from excessive heat and frozen, and used only if the solution is clear and the vacuum is intact. The usual dose is mentioned in the package insert, and instructions and compatible diluents for peripheral infusion are given. FoscaVir® is a trademark of Clinigen Healthcare Ltd., manufactured by the same, and distributed by Hospira Inc. If the solution bag and seal are not intact, do not use the product.*
