Iron Sucrose Injection, USP is a medication containing 200 mg of elemental iron per 10 mL (20 mg/mL) and is provided in a 10 mL single-dose vial for intravenous use only. The drug product is manufactured by International Medication Systems, Limited, a subsidiary of Amphastar Pharmaceuticals. Each 10 mL vial contains iron sucrose in water for injection, with approximately 30% sucrose by weight and sodium chloride for isotonicity. No preservatives are included in the formulation. It is recommended to store the product at 20°C to 25°C (66°F to 77°F) with excursions permitted to 15°C to 30°C (59°F to 86°F) and should not be frozen. The usual dosage should be determined based on prescribing information.*
