Fludeoxyglucose F 18 Injection, USP is a diagnostic solution that is used for intravenous injection only. It comes in a 30mL multiple-use vial with a concentration range of 10-100 mCi/mL at the end of synthesis, and it has a shelf life of 12 hours after the end of synthesis. The solution is sterile, non-pyrogenic, and contains deoxy-2 [18F] fluoro-D-glucose 0.37–37.0 GBq (10-100 mCi) of no barrier added 2-deoxy-2-[18F]fluoro-D-glucose at EOS, [72 meq of citrate ions. It should be stored at 25°C (77°F) with excursions allowed to 15-30°C (56-86°F) according to USP controlled room temperature. It must be stored upright in a shielded container, and doses should be handled and withdrawn aseptically. The solution has a half-life of 109.7 minutes, and the manufacturer is Hamamatsu/Queen's Pet Imaging Center located in Honolulu, HI. Patients should not be given the solution if it contains particulate matter, and correct dosage calculations should be made from the calibration date and time.*
