Lidothol is a medication used for pain relief, which should be used on intact skin and not on wounds or infected skin. It contains Lidocaine and Menthol, and exceeding the dosage or short interval would result in high plasma levels and serious side effects that could require resuscitative equipment or other resuscitative drugs. Children and pets must be kept away from the drug, even a used patch can cause serious adverse effects, this drug is only recommended for adults. The drug may cause sedation, and patients must not operate machinery or perform activities made hazardous by decreased alertness. Patients with severe hepatic disease are at greater risk of developing high blood levels of Lidocaine. Excessive doseage could also increase blood levels that can impair fertility; the drug should be used with caution in patients with a history of drug sensitivities, and patients allergic to para-aminobenzoic acid derivatives should take the drug with caution. The most common adverse reactions occur at the application site but serious adverse experiences similar to those observed in other amide anesthetic-containing agents could occur. Patients administered diagnosed with local anesthetics may develop methemoglobinemia when concurrently exposed to some oxidation agents. The drug is supplied in 15 Patches per re-sealable pouch and the drug shouldn't be used on the face, genitals or with a heating pad. Patients should wash hands after applying, remove or disposing of Lidothol properly and it should be kept out of reach of children.*
