Halodine is an antiseptic solution available in single-dose packages of 10, 100, and 200. It contains povidone-iodine USP, 1.75%, which is a powerful antiseptic used to prevent minor oral infections that may arise from dental procedures. Halodine is intended for oral antisepsis in adults and children aged 3 years and older. One is required to empty the contents of an ampoule into a small cup, add twice the water amount for a fill of 10ml, then swish vigorously into the mouth for 15 seconds then gargle and spit out. It is important to not swallow Halodine, and to cease use and call a dentist or a doctor if a sore mouth or symptoms persist beyond 7 days.*
