This is a drug for temporary relief of cough and the loosening of mucus in the bronchial tubes. It contains Dextromethorphan HBr as the active ingredient that suppresses cough and serves as an expectorant. The drug is not intended for use in children under 12 years of age. The drug has warnings, including not to use it if you are already taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (certain drugs for depression, psychiatry, or Parkinson's disease), or for two weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If unsure if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. Pregnant or nursing women should also ask a health professional before use. If a cough lasts for more than 7 days, a doctor should be contacted, and if it comes with fever, rash, or persistent headache, it may be a sign of a serious condition. The drug should be kept away from children, and in case of overdose or adverse reaction like rash, medical help should be sought.*
