Eye Wash is a drug used for cleansing the eyes and relieving irritation or burning caused by loose foreign material. It contains primarily purified water (99.1%) and is intended for external use only. The product should not be used if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy. To avoid contamination, the user should not touch the tip of the container to any surface and should not reuse the product once it has been opened. Further, immediate medical treatment should be sought for all open wounds in or near the eyes. If the user experiences eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness, or irritation of the eye, they should stop using the product and consult a doctor. The product should be kept out of reach of children, and if swallowed, medical help or contact with a Poison Control Center should be sought immediately. To use the product, one should flush the affected eye as needed, controlling the rate of flow of the solution by pressure on the bottle. It should not be used as a contact lens solution.
