It serves as an alcohol antiseptic 80% topical non-sterile solution for healthcare personnel to rub on their hands to help reduce bacteria that can potentially cause disease. The package comes with drug facts and usage directions to rub the gel on hands until dry. It is flammable and the gel should be kept away from heat or flame. It also contains warnings such as not using it on children under 2 months of age or on open skin wounds. If it gets into the eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. If irritation or rash occurs, the user is to stop using the gel and contact a physician.
