Isolyte® S is a multi-electrolyte injection contained in a 1000 mL EXCEL® container. It is sterile, non-pyrogenic and a single dose container for intravenous use only. The solution contains various electrolytes including Sodium Chloride, Sodium Gluconate, Sodium Acetate, Potassium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, and water for injection with adjusted pH and calculated osmolarity. The solution is recommended to be stored at room temperature, protected from excessive heat, and freezing. Before use, the container should be checked for minute leaks by squeezing it firmly, and if found, the solution should be discarded to maintain sterility. Some additives may be incompatible, so it is recommended to consult with a pharmacist before introducing any additives.
