Topex® is a topical anesthetic gel containing 20% Benzocaine to be used on oral mucosa. It is applied as needed and comes in doses containing between 180-220 mg of Benzocaine in a flavored base. Topex® should not be used on individuals with a known sensitivity to Benzocaine. It can cause methemoglobinemia, which reduces the amount of oxygen carried in the blood. If symptoms such as cyanosis, headache, rapid heart rate, or shortness of breath occur, medical attention must be sought immediately. Topex® is not for use in children under 2 years old and should be kept out of reach of children. It must be stored between 58°-88°F (15-30°C) and protected from freezing.*

Topex® Topical Anesthetic Gel by Dentsply Sirona is an oral mucosa anesthetic gel that helps achieve topical anesthesia. The gel, containing 20% benzocaine, is available in a flavored base and can be dosed according to the patient's need using a cotton applicator. However, it is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to benzocaine or PAEA. Additionally, the product has warnings for methemoglobinemia and should not be used in children under two years old. In case of overdose, contact a Poison Control Center. The product should be stored between 58°-88°F and be protected from freezing. It is manufactured by Sultan Healthcare and contains ingredients like Polyethylene Glycol 5350 NF, Natural Peppermint Flavor, and Purified Water.*
