This is a drug fact sheet for an acne treatment product containing 2% salicylic acid. The product helps to clear acne pimples, control blackheads and whiteheads, and prevents new pimples from forming. It is meant for external use only and may cause irritation or dryness if combined with other topical acne medication. The user should consult a health professional if pregnant or breastfeeding. The product should be kept out of reach of children and contact with eyes, lips, or mouth should be avoided. The product should be used once a day and gradually increased to two or three times daily if needed. If bothersome dryness or peeling occurs, application should be reduced to once a day or every other day. The product should be kept tightly closed and avoid temperatures above 100°F (38°C). Inactive ingredients include water, alcohol, PEG-/SVIDI copolymer, soceteth-20, allantoi, capryloyl lycine, fragrance, jojoba wax PEG-120 esters, phytic acid, and triethanolamine.
