It helps reduce bacteria that potentially can cause skin infection. The treatment area for one maxi swabstick is approximately 7 by 7 inches for dry site or 3 by 7.3 inches for moist site. It should be used with care in premature infants or infants under 2 months of age. Prevantics must not be used with electrocautery procedures and has to be discarded after a single use.
