NexoBrid is a medication used for topical use only that contains proteolytic enzymes extracted from pineapple stems. It is available in the form of a sterile gel vehicle containing carbomer 980, dibasic sodium phosphate, sodium hydroxide, and water for injection. The medication does not contain preservatives and comes as a single-dose vial containing 1.94 g of anacaulase-bcdb in 2 g of powder and a single-dose jar containing 20 g of sterile gel vehicle. The drug should be mixed thoroughly before use and discarded if not used within 15 minutes after preparation. The medication should be stored and transported upright between 2°C to 8°C in the original carton to protect it from light, and it should not be frozen. Each vial contains 4.85 g of anacaulase-bdbc in 5 g of powder, and each jar contains 50 g of sterile preservative-free gel vehicle. Prior to application, the powder must be thoroughly mixed in the gel vehicle with a sterile instrument, and the unused portion must be discarded.
