This is a description of a nitrofurantoin oral suspension manufactured by Nestrum Laboratories, Inc. for use as a urinary tract antibacterial. It is intended for oral use only and is available in a 240mL bottle. The recommended dose for adults is 50 to 100mg four times a day with food, while children should receive 5 to 7mg/kg of body weight per 24 hours. The suspension should be dispensed in tight, light-resistant amber bottles and used within 30 days. It should be stored at 20°C to 25°C and protected from freezing and strong light. The medication is not to be used if the inner foil seal is broken or missing.*
